My Fabulous Vegas Wedding…

Hello Kids…
Well our big day has finally come and gone. I am now a married woman thanks to my loving husband and the fabulous staff at Vegas Weddings. Our wedding planning started with this blog and an unrealistic budget. No, we did not raise the $10,000 dollars we set as our goal. Instead we worked hard and managed to trade off social networking services with Vegas Weddings in exchange for our wedding package. That left us with some travel expenses to cover but all in all we managed to pull off our perfect wedding without the benefit of $10,000 in cash. My best advice to all brides is ask for the things you need. I did a whole lot of long shot asking and for the most part I was able to work out good deals for every bit of the wedding. However, I could not have done it without the wonderful people at Vegas Weddings. They made sure my wedding was perfect and in return I offered them the best of my social networking and social media expertise and as it turns out we all did a lot of growing in the process. I’m so happy with how my wedding turned out and the way we made the journey to that big day. With hard work and a great set of people to work with my wedding happened and it happened with no stress, it was exactly what I wanted and much to the surprise of my friends and family “it was a real wedding!”
Most people have a bit of a misconception about weddings in Las Vegas; there is an air of absurdity to the whole thing. Often times we make a joke of it. Yet my wedding was reverent, beautiful and heartfelt; everything a “traditional” wedding should be. The difference is the backdrop, we had Vegas right there ready and waiting to make our visit and wedding as fun and memorable as possible. It’s the perfect combination of let loose fun and the joining of two people into a holy convent. My experience with Vegas Weddings has always been interesting because I get to see the best of every wedding type possible, from my own small more traditional ceremony to zip-lines and adventure weddings they offer something for everyone. As you can probably tell Vegas Weddings gets my highest recommendation.
The story of our wedding may help give all you Vegas brides out there a little glimpse of a wedding Vegas style. Our wedding was held Monday July 23rd, 2012. Our adventure began on Sunday when the limo picked us up to go get our marriage license. We pre-registered online so all we had to do was sign some paperwork and pay the fee. We were in and out within 10 minutes and back down just one block away to check in with Vegas Weddings. They showed us around and gave us a short run down of the wedding process. They made sure we didn’t have any special requests or vows we wanted to use in our wedding. Once everything was in place the limo dropped us back off at our hotel. The next day was a breeze we had a night-time wedding so we were able to get up late, go around town for hair and make-up and be back in the room for the limo pick-up. The limo took me and my soon-to-be husband to Vegas Weddings. Once there I was taken up to the bride’s room to hideout while everyone arrived and got seated. Once the music for seating ended they closed the doors and I came out to the hallway in front of the chapel. The doors opened and I almost skipped down the aisle I was so happy that this moment was finally here. It had been a long time coming and I wanted it to be memorable. To be honest the ceremony was beautiful, it was more than I had expected. Our minister was just wonderful. The best part was standing there with my best friend and now husband. We are more than capable of joking with each other in silence and we did through most of the ceremony. I was so worried I would cry and the truth is I was holding back laughter. It was one of the happiest moments of my life and well we like to laugh even more when we’re happy. After the ceremony we took lots of photos with family and friends. We said hello to all of our “online guests”. Yes, we had a webcast and all total about 110 people were watching online. After turning off the camera feed we made our way outside for a few more pictures, we checked out and the limo took us back to our hotel. From there my husband and I set out on our very first Vegas adventure as a married couple; our strip tour photo shoot (but we’ll save those details for another blog).
Once we had recovered for a few days we went back down to Vegas Weddings, we had a ton of people to thank. Frankly I cannot thank the staff there enough. Ann Parsons was my contact the entire time we were working together and she made sure that the rest of the staff was ready for me. The way they handle everything is wonderful. Every time we visit Vegas Weddings there are a few brides around, checking-in, waiting for their big moment, or hopping into limos. And every time I see the staff working at 110% to make sure each and every person feels good, they are masters of making everyone in the room feel welcome and at home. I really appreciate all of their hard work, they made my day not only beautiful and perfect but also stress free. Above all other things I wanted a stress free wedding, I wanted to marry my best friend without having to worry about the details. Vegas Weddings took care of the details right down to my special order flowers. Thanks again to everyone involved my wedding day was 100% perfect and I am so happy to have these great memories.
